I've been happily adopted, but check below for a list of other sweet birds who need a home!

Hello everyone. I'm Rocky a very, very handsome king pigeon recently rescued from a shelter. I arrived as a stray with my good pal, but he died several days later leaving me all alone in this big scary world. I got the name Rocky because, as I was terrified of hands and stressed out in the shelter environment, I would hiss and swat at people with my left wing (boxing southpaw). Sound familiar? I was scheduled for euthanasia but was released to a foster home instead. Thank goodness! What a stroke of luck that was! I'm still very afraid of hands, but in the weeks, I've been with my foster mom I have made progress. I'm still afraid of hands but am coming around. I love being misted and like to eat in front of my mirror- I am my own new best friend. I've even become perch-trained though in my case I guess it's really basket trained if you think about it. My foster mom likes to tell everyone how amazed she is with me. She believes in me, you know? I have VERY big brown eyes and would love to have a wonderful, safe, pigeon- friendly forever home. Do you like pigeons? We are pretty cool birds and make great cooing sounds. Get ahold of foster mom Elizabeth at eyoung@leapfrog.com or 415 420-7204 if you want to give me a second chance. I want to learn to trust people again- really I do- maybe with you?
