UPDATE 4/10/06: "They are very happy, wonderful, sweet little tiels. Every day they sit on the kids' shoulders while they play piano and read. They like to crawl down their arm and play the piano for themselves! Miss Kitty weighs enough that she is able to get the keys to go down, but when Dillon walks on them he's too light and they won't go down. They eat dinner with the family and one night Miss Kitty flew down and landed in the mashed potatoes! Every night they help do the dishes. They also like to read the paper with the family and Dillon will comment on interesting things he sees in the paper by doing a wolf whistle! They are a big part of the family and really happy. UPDATE 1/1/06: Dillon and Miss Kitty had been adopted, but unfortunately, one of the family members discovered that she was allergic to birds. Dillon and Miss Kitty are back in Mickaboo's foster care and available for adoption. Get out of Dodge, the 'tiels are riding into town! Actually, we are two sweet little birds, Dilllon and Miss Kitty, who need a new start at the age of about 2. We were bought at Petco and recently left at an animal shelter when our owner decided he didn't have time for us. We were in such a filthy cage that our Mickaboo rescuer gave up on cleaning it and tossed it instead. I'm Dillon, and I'm a social guy. Nothing beats a good head rub, in my opinion, unless maybe it's a shower. I can whistle and make sounds like a car alarm and a little dog. In keeping with the season, I am also trying to learn the "Jingle Bells" tune. Our past diet was not great but we are learning to eat nutrian cakes, Zupreem, and I have tried veggies. (I'll keep trying.) My pal Miss Kitty is having a rougher time. She has had an infection and is on meds but is doing much better. She has her appetite back and better watch it or she'll lose her girlish figure. Our owner gave her a rotten clip (even chopping off some of her tail), but that will grow back. Unfortunately, she is missing nails on a couple of her tiny toes so she needs rope or textured perches, like cholla cactus. By the way, you may recall that Matt and Miss Kitty never did kiss. Well, like them we are friendly, but not exactly bonded. That means we are free to join your human posse. Are you ready to deputize us as your new pardners?
