UPDATE FROM RORY & NIALL'S FOSTER MOM 3/30/2008: Well Finn has moved out (and in with Bluebelle!). Rory and Niall are our cranky couple. Niall grooms Rory, but Rory hasn't figured out that he is supposed to reciprocate. They can remain in a heads down deadlock for minutes at a time, each waiting for the other to start grooming. They do, however, sing beautiful arpeggios to each other and can't bear to be separated. Niall is the friendlier of the two, and will readily step up onto a finger and try to groom our hair when we're changing the paper in the cage. Rory is more wary of hands and only steps up when he wants to get back in his cage. They're both happy birds, though, and spend most of the day grooming, grinding beaks, and dozing. What they really love is when we open their cage so they can hang out on top or explore the bookcase.

Top o' the morning to you, we're the three Irish tenors! I'm Rory, the lead singer and a fine cinnamon cockatiel. Niall and Finn are a couple of cinnamon pied brothers who sing back up. I'm best friends with Niall, while brother Finn is the odd man out. Finn would probably do best striking out on a solo career or singing duets with a lovely colleen.

We are our foster mom's rowdy boys, but we will step up with a little encouragement and even sit on a shoulder for a brief time. We must have been raised with good manners, but apparently forgot them along the way. No one really knows our story, other than that we were surrendered at the Martinez shelter.

Maybe it's the luck o' the Irish, but we're in clover now with our foster family. We get fed Zupreem pellets, which we love to crunch to bits. Our foster mom snuck some Roudybush pellets into our chow, though, and she nearly had an Irish revolt on her hands! She is still finding pellets in the corners of the room. We do love our leafy greens, though, and haven't given the lady of the house much trouble since then.
