update 6/5/2007:Hi! I moved from some temporary lodging to an active foster family home, have finished quarantine and joined the other family birds. I seem to be really happy with all the other birds. I'm still wary of touching, unless you have me wrapped up in a towel for some horrible reason and then I'll allow myself to relax for some close encounters. I enjoy coming up to the bars of my cage to interact with my foster family but just can't get over the wildness and fear of the humans YET. I am a challenge but a cute soft feathered one. I am also chatty with my squeaky raspy little voice. My foster mom is convinced I'm speaking her language but she hasn't been able to understand me YET. Stay tuned . . .
Hi! I'm another little guy - a White Front amazon. My name is Marty. My history is sparse and apparently not very good because when the Mickaboo vet checked me over she put me on medication for some various and sundry bacterial infections. My foster mom is trying to convince me those hard dry funny shaped things in my dish are actually good for me. She calls them "yummy pellets" but so far I'm just watching them drop to the newspaper below. I'm pretty much a seed junkie but I know Mickaboo will help me get through parrot mix rehab and soon I'll be eating the hard dry funny shaped things, and green things, and all sort of new foods. I'm a wild child and yearn to fly free so I've had a pedicure and a wing trim and met Mr. Towel. I love toys I can chew up - soft wood, shreddables, and with little bells. I'm kind of nervous right now so am looking for someone to help me settle down and show me touching is ok. I'm friendly and will come up close with the cage between us but don't know how to get from there to you - would you teach me?
