Joe and Jasmine may have been exposed to a fatal disease, psitticine beak and feather disease (PBFD) when they were still at a pet store. When they were purchased, their new owners took them to a vet. These baby birds tested positive for PBFD. Because their owners had other birds, they were afraid to expose their other birds to possible infection. Joe and Jasmine may not have had PBFD, but the only home available for them was the hospice care home where another budgie that has PBFD, Benny, already lived. Fortunately, Joe and Jasmine will be well taken care for the rest of their lives, whatever the future may bring. Print this page |
