Hello, my name is Peppie! I am one of those gorgeous Double Yellow Headed Amazons who are known for their intelligence, feisty character and big appetites! I am over 25 years old and before I came to Mickaboo I was a survivor of bad weather and hard times. Now I have been to school with a foster mom who introduced me to targeting and clicker training. These taught me to modify my behavior in exchange for my favorite treats. Yes, I will work for food! I have smoothed off most of my rough edges now and am so well-behaved that I will sit for a dignified portrait. Hey, take a look at my picture -- no rough edges to be seen anywhere!

I am currently being fostered at Andy's Pet Shop in San Jose, which specializes in rescued animals like me. Here, I have made friends with beautiful Cocoa the Yellow-Naped Amazon, who is also a Mickaboo bird. My cage is right next to hers and we exchange glances and happy cooing sounds all day. I love the care I am getting here but I'm ready to go to a forever home with big bird experience and preferably with other Amazons -- like Cocoa! -- to keep me company. (You know, if you were to adopt Cocoa and me both, that would be great!) If you come to meet me you can see what a handsome gentleman I am and you might just fall in love with me. Take a chance, you never know.

Notice: Due to the sometimes difficult nature of amazons, Mickaboo prefers that amazons not be a households' first parrot. If you intend to house an amazon, please research the following websites:
