Yes, we are true "lovebirds" - in both species and in spirit. We are a bonded pair and love hanging out together. Where do lovebirds get their name, you may ask? Well, lovebirds such as us, that are bonded, if kept in pairs will constantly groom each other and sit as close together as possible when sleeping or resting. Isn't that sweet? Did you know that we have a fancy scientific name? It's Agapornis roseicollis! Impressive eh? We think it's easier to just refer to us as lovebirds or "lovies" though, don't you think? It does make us sound important though. . .and BIG! Though we lovebirds are small in size, we have the intelligence and abilities of some of the largest parrots around! We're a playful and inquisitive breed as well. Toys - we like our toys! Playing, swinging and goofin' around is all fun for us. George is the more normal peach-face with dark green on his backside and lower body. I, Cokie, am lighter and more of a lutino-pied peach-face. We don't mind that we look a bit different from one another at all. Would you like a bit of lovie in your life - or should I say lovies, as in plural? We must be adopted together. That just means double the fun for you! Have you filled out your application yet? Love to hear from you soon! Print this page |
