I've been happily adopted, but check below for a list of other sweet birds who need a home!

There will be no feathers here! Aesop (the fellow who wrote all those fables) once said "It is not only fine feathers that make fine birds" and he knew what he was talking about! I'm a ringneck parakeet, probably about 10 years old, who doesn't allow my contour feathers to grow. Fortunately, I have a nice down coat to keep me warm. My name is Hebrew for "Beautiful bird" and that's what I am, if you're a person who can see past my exterior to the wonderful bird companion I am. I need a new home because my people left the country. I'm a serious chewer of many things (not just feathers), so I need a good supply of safe toys. There is no "ack, what's that?" when you show me a new toy. My reaction is "oh, joy, something to chew!" I eat with gusto anything you offer, including the healthy stuff like carrots, sweet potato, and whole grains. To me, Harrison's pellets are manna from heaven. I'm very affectionate, trusting, adaptable, curious and playful. I don't bite, do step up, and adore having my head scratched. Scratch my head and I will coo and snuggle. I'm quiet at night and readily go to bed as a good girl should. I like company and personal attention, but also play happily with toys on my own. I even travel very well. On Christmas day, I accompanied my foster family to a big gathering of adults, kids and a dog. I stepped up, cooed for, and charmed everyone. Well, maybe not the dog, but that was his problem. In short, I'm a sweet, happy, good-natured bird who would be a great addition to just about any bird-loving family.
