I am Que-n-nick, an American Indian name which means Lady of the Wind. I guess that proud name isn't easy to say or remember so everyone calls me Queeters. We are not exactly sure how old I am because I've had several homes - the last one for 18 years. According to my last owner I have quite the vocabulary. According to my foster mom a lot of my vocabulary isn't fit for a lady to say. I'm a pretty good eater although pellets are not my thing--yet. I'm a little hesitant about affectionate touching, but if you are patient with me, I think I'll get to like it. If you sing to me, I will dance. Although I'm not a big biter, I have been known to get in a pinch or two with my big beak and then I say "Ouch" before you do. In summary, I'm big and beautiful, have a few issues, but in a home with experienced big bird caretakers, I'll do just fine. Update: 4/17/08. I am doing really well in a foster home with Kobe, another female Blue & Gold. We would like to have some people visit us. We are so cute that it will be hard to choose but maybe you would want us both. Come see us! Print this page |
