Ollie, ollie, oxen free! That is exactly what I am: free! As in free agent and free to go to my forever home. That is what we all long for right? A place to rest your head, a place to call home. I am still in search of that wonderful place and hoping it is with you. In case you have not figured it out yet, my name is Ollie. My foster mom thinks that I was not handled much in the past because hands really terrify me, especially when I am in my cage. Actually the only time I welcome a human hand is when it is taking me back to my cage if I have gone a stray. My cage is my favorite place to be, I guess that is why I am pretty territorial over it. I do like human company, someone to whistle or talk to me, but only from a distance. My foster mom says that despite my fear of people I do appreciate attention. And she thinks that in the right home, with a patient and loving person and some one-on-one attention, I will slowly overcome my fears and show my true colors that are hiding in there somewhere. I have a cockatiel friend named Sancho here in my foster home. Sometimes Sancho gets a little too affectionate for my liking. No preening or sitting too close; those are my rules. I am not the cuddly type but I very much enjoy his company and call for him when he leaves the room. It would be nice to have a friend in my new home too. Have I peaked your interest yet? I will be here waiting patiently for my forever home. How does that saying go? Oh, I know! Good things come to those who wait. Print this page |
