Belle was found with her mate in a small cage in the trash of a mobilehome that was due to be demolished. Only the crying of a cat, also imprisoned in the mobilehome, alerted workers that something was amiss. Belle had tried to lay too many eggs, and had severe physical damage requiring extensive medical care -- which she was given as soon as she came into Mickboo's care. When she was feeling better, she was taken to a home where she was fed a good diet and kept with female budgies. (The picture is of Belle and two of her girlfriends.) While she recovered enough to lead an active and happy life, eventually problems again occurred. While Belle, like all of our birds, received immediate medical care, she died today from complications associated with her long term health problems. Print this page |
