Here's the latest on the baby budgie bunch: Our budgie bunch has been renamed to Eenie, Meenie, Miny, Moe and Curly. Moe & Curly are the boys, and Eenie, Meenie and Miny are the girls. They have grown up as a flock-- which is to say they are not trained to be hand-oriented (nor, by the way, do they know their names!). They are so busy amongst themselves & keep themselves so happily occupied that their foster mom enjoys them as a group rather than as individuals per se. When she puts a chewable object into their cage, they plow through it faster than you can say, "Gesundheit!" - it's like a swarm of piranhas. They're so full of life! They are constantly in motion & making comments about things-- you can expect a level of babble and song and chirping and squawking that someone visiting their home referred to them as "the Greek chorus." They're a joy--though if you are looking for a quiet household or a shoulder companion, this bunch is not for you. UPDATE 10/17/06:

Hooray! We've graduated from budgie school! We're all ready to go to our forever homes! Because we've always been together, we'd like to stay together if possible -- if not all five of us, maybe in smaller groups? Just look at our picture -- are we cute, or what!?!

G'Day mates. We're the baby budgie bunch--Shamrock, Pepper, Clover, Ivy and Haven. (Budgies came from Australia, y'know.) We aren't really sure who our birth parents are, but that doesn't matter, we were lovingly co-parented by Jonquil, Forsythia, Hawthorn and Parker . The 9 of us were given to Mickaboo to place in carefully chosen new homes. Recently weaned from our parents, all five of us babies are all eagerly learning to eat new foods such as pellets, greens and millet. We think pellets are pretty good stuff. In addition we get daily step up lessons from our new foster moms, Mia and Chloe. We are quick learners and doing quite well- even if we do say so ourselves! We're not too sure about what to do with toys yet but we sure like our swing. We aren't even 3 months old yet! . . . the perfect age to accept new foods and people into our lives. We're young, adaptable, and just darn cute too. Don't you want to adopt one, or two, or even three of us? [NOTE: The baby budgie bunch is still going to budgie school, and they are not yet ready for adoption.]
