Angel was with us very briefly. Like many of our little birds, she was a fighter. Despite the severity of her injuries from being mauled by a cat, she seemed to be recovering. The picture is blurry because she wouldn't hold still. She was on the move as soon as she could stand. Mickaboo volunteers got her to a vet as soon as we learned of her existence. A reminder to everyone who visits our web pages: cat and dog saliva contains an infectious agent that is fatal to birds -- please take an injured bird to a vet as quickly as possible. They can be saved with immediate treatment. Notice: Due to the highly social nature of parakeets, unless a household currently includes a parakeet, Mickaboo generally requires that a minimum of two parakeets be adopted. Print this page |
