Here is an update from Opal's foster mom: "I've been working with Opal over the last couple of evenings. She's now stepping up for me in her cage, and once I get her out, she'll sit on my finger forever and preen. Yay!"

Please pay close attention to my photo so you can appreciate what a beautiful girl I am. Not much more is known about me, because I was a stray. I was a smart and lucky stray who flew onto the right shoulder looking for help. I didn't seem the worse for wear, so maybe I wasn't flying around too long before I homed in on that shoulder. Eventually I made my way to Mickaboo. I seem to be quite tame, though right now I'm not doing a lot of "stepping up." Maybe I'm still a bit disoriented after my time in the great outdoors and a couple of changes of address since. Obviously I know people are my friends or I wouldn't have flown to one to be rescued. I don't need a shoulder to cry on, I just need another shoulder to perch on. Would you like a new precious friend?

Notice: Due to the highly social nature of parakeets, unless a household currently includes a parakeet, Mickaboo generally requires that a minimum of two parakeets be adopted.
