Lovebird foster parents agree...We Adore Our Lovebirds!
UPDATE 12/7/04: Hello again! I have now learned to step up and eat food out of your hand. I even discovered I like to get my head scratched! I?m very sweet and do not bite...not even the veterinarian! I?m a very quiet bird. Although I?m in my own cage, I?m good with other birds, and chirp back to them. My special needs are not too big. I have a swollen toe and need medicated cream on it, but I lay on my back in your hand without being held and enjoy the attention and tummy rub. My name is Cloudia and I want to remind people that not all lovebirds have peach faces. Some of us are Black Masked lovebirds. There are lovebird aficionados who say that we are less aggressive than those peachy birds. I don't know about that, but I do know that I?m sweet and even a little shy. My first home wasn't so great. I was kept with my other lovebird friends in a rabbit cage cobbled together out of chicken wire. We had food and water but little else. Our next home was a big improvement, with a large cage and lots of toys. We even had music and a window with a view. But then my brother developed itchy sores on his legs. Our mom loved us, but couldn't afford the vet care he needed. She took us to Mickaboo. Now I?m looking for another home, hoping it?s true that the third time is the charm. Are you that special patient person who?ll appreciate my gentleness and play cool music for me and spend time getting to know the bird behind the mask? Print this page |
