Hello! My name is Checkers. After flying around wild for some time, I was picked up in a park and turned into a local shelter. Then a very nice Mickaboo volunteer took me in and offered me a safe environment with good food and company. I must have been someone's beloved pet once because I'm very sweet! I love to whistle and cat-call out when people are near. I eat well and am currently on a diet of cakes, pellets and other good stuff. My foster mom bathes me everyday with lukewarm water and tries to decorate my cage with kale and other vegetables--I think she's trying to get me to nibble on them, though I am still a millet spray and seed addict! I like to sit on her shoulder and be petted. If you have anything shiny (bling blings), I will attempt to extract them from you or your clothing, but I don't do any damage, I'm just curious! I would make an excellent companion - are you looking for a bird friend? Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
