Lovebird foster parents agree...

We Adore Our Lovebirds!

  • Lovebirds have a zest for life, with big bird personalities in small packages.
  • Outfitted in beautiful colors, they rate at the very top of the cuteness scale.
  • Their non-stop activity keeps us laughing.
  • They’re opinionated and funny – like having your own personal soap opera, except cuter.
  • Musical cheeping fills our homes with cheer.
  • Always curious, these little birds like to be near the center of activity, “chatting” with their humans.
  • Lovebird pairs like to be near us, but are rarely shoulder birds. They prefer hanging out with their Lovebird buddies, and don't need much dedicated time and attention from humans.
  • When tame, single lovebirds can be sweet little shoulder birds. Singles require more attention from their humans because they see you as their mates!
  • Usually ravenous, so easy to feed.
  • You’ll never need a 'paper shredder' if you have lovebirds around.
  • And finally, when in pairs, we think they're perfect birds for people with busy lives.

I've been happily adopted, but check below for a list of other sweet birds who need a home!

Our names are Ariel & Daisy and we are a Mom and Daughter that came from a large flock (27!). We were all surrendered to a local shelter and about half of us came to Mickaboo. (The other half the shelter decided to adopt out on their own.)

When they took us out of our home and into the shelter we didn’t know what was ahead of us but fortunately Mickaboo came and got us and kept Mom and us 3 kids together. My two brothers have since been adopted out to a nice home and we’re still hoping for the same.

Since our previous human companion never paid much attention to us, us girls are pretty wild but our Foster Dad has been working with us and we now step up on a perch when it is time for us to go back into our cage. With continued loving attention and patience I know we could completely tame with our human companions.

If you would like to add a couple of Beautiful Girls to your home please get in touch with the Love Bird Coordinator (above) and he'll tell you how to adopt us. Keep in mind though, we may look as pretty as flowers, but you can't just feed and water us. We're social gals and need lots of interaction with our human friends!
