Hi! My name is Betty and I am a gorgeous blue crown conure (probably female, according to my foster mom). I was surrendered by a nice, elderly woman who can no longer take care of me. She had me for 20 years! Here's me on camera! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=d96b5MTijNI&NR=1 And here's me on camera again. Mommy is waking me up from my nap to give me some head scrithes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5Tfm5TKWIM&feature=youtu.be My foster mommy is really patient with me. I love being talked to and I'll take a piece of food or a bit of papaya out of her hand. I really love to sit on her hand and make kissy noises while she scratches my head. My beak has an old injury, so it looks a little funny on one side. Now that I've been in foster care a while, my foster mom has seen it grow out, and then fall off, so it doesn't look like I'll have any trouble or need vet trimming. At the veterinarian's office, they even gave me a clean bill of health! I used to be a super seed junkie, and if they're offered to me I refuse to eat until I'm startving. However, my foster mom has these new things called pellets - I eat the fruity ones that turn my poop goofy colors. I like to eat the tan ones when I'm out of the cage (Zupreem fruity & Naturals). I'm still not a huge fan of fresh foods, but Mickaboo mommy is trying very hard to get me to like them! So far I like pomegranate. She says those veggie things are tasty, but I need some more time and TLC before I'll trust what she tells me. Maybe my new forever home is out there, and they can love me and spend lots of time with me? If that is you I would love to meet you. I might even whisper to you! Update 12/2/11: Betty appears to do very well with other birds. She currently spends time with her foster mom's conures (green cheeks) and they do great. Betty would probably enjoy the companionship; though she still really craves and adores human interaction. She has now been converted to Zupreem pellets in both the fruity and natural versions in 2 sizes. Print this page |
