Catch the Rainbow! Hi, my name is Rainbow and I'm a mature female sun conure, 14 years old. I have lived in a few different homes in my life and was used as a breeder for a time, years ago. My last home was with a nice family who cared well for me and loved me very much. They have a toddler now, which upset my pecking order in the household. As mom cared for the baby, I got less one-on-one time with her, which made me lonely. I became more vocal as a result, which scared the baby and kept me further out of family activities. So, mom is entrusting me to Mickaboo to find a loving home where I can get lots of the human companionship that I crave. As you can see, I am a rainbow of color, but I'm also a symphony of sound! The Aratinga conures like me are known as some of the loudest parrots around for our size, and we parrots are a noisy bunch. Besides calling out for my flock in my native tongue, I like to quack like a duck and make all kinds of people sounds. My new home will have to be ready for my volume and vocal repertoire because it is part of who I am, something I can't change.
I am a sweet girl who likes to be cuddled, talked to, or just to sit with you while you work at home or watch TV. I get along well with other birds, but I am more of a people companion and need lots of human attention in a conure-friendly household. I also need lots of out-of-cage time. I'm already gentle, loving, well socialized, and on a great diet. If you let me, I will be your best friend and talk softly (or not so softly!) to you while you play hide and seek with me or scritch my neck. Would you like to make this Rainbow connection? Call Mickaboo!
