UPDATE: Saaya is now one and a half years old and still just as lovable as ever! "I'm dying to meet a baby cockatiel", that's what my foster mom said and I guess, that's why she got me. She squealed when she realized I was only 2-3 months old, and since I remind her of her tiel's shadow, she named me Saaya, which means shadow. I was found wandering the streets of the Bay Area. I'm a soft grey colored spunky little thing--very inquisitive. That must be what got me into trouble, otherwise why else would a young baby 'tiel be wandering on the street? Even with my wings clipped, I'm a strong flier. I've settled into my foster home, but keep calling out to another tiel that also lives there. I REALLY want to meet her, but they won't let me because of this thing called quarantine. It's hard on me and on my tiel mate in the other room! We both want our foster mom's attention all the time. I'm very tame and loving. I step up easily and the moment I see or hear my foster mom, I jump to the edge to my cage to be picked up for cuddles. I also make this gurgling baby 'feed me' cry----I think I'm still a little confused when I see my foster mom or my favorite food. I probably get excited and forget for a moment that I can feed myself. Then I attack my millet like there is no tomorrow and continue making the gurgling sound. I think it sounds very cute! My foster mom is continuously trying to get me to eat this thing called pellets, and I try it once in a while. I ignore the brown rice and veggies I'm getting, but this is only till my quarantine is over, and then I will eat what I see others eat. I'm a baby, you see, and like to do what others do. I'm very easy to please and will adapt easily because I'm so young. I've been given a clean bill of health by the vet. If you want to adopt a baby, come and get me soon and watch me grow! Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
