Ahem...what's that you say? Why no, I'm not sleeping - I'm very much awake and ready to play thank you very much. I just have so many feathers on my face that they sometimes cover up my eyes and make it look like I'm napping. But, you see, I'm Matey, an English Budgie, and that's how we look. Very cute and fluffy - dontcha think? Not only that, but my foster mom says I'm just the sweetest budgie and even cuter in real life. I love to make friends with the birds I hear by chirping sweetly back to them. I love humans too. I'm learning to step up because it's the best way to get to a shoulder, and that's one of my very favorite places to be - especially if a little kiss on the top of my head is part of the package. What I would really love is a shoulder to call my own and a forever home where I can chirp and play (I adore balls and bells by the way). If you think you can picture yourself with a cute little guy like me hanging out on your shoulder, by all means, contact my adoption coordinator. But don't delay. I won't be "single" for long. Yep, I think my forever shoulder is right around the corner!
