I've been happily adopted, but check below for a list of other sweet birds who need a home!

Hello! My name is Lola, I was turned into a animal shelter recently and the nice adoption lady there felt Mickaboo could get me into a bird knowledgeable foster home and give me good care. I like that lady- she was nice to care about my welfare like that! I'm a lesser sulpher crest cockatoo, age unknown. The shelter staff said I am a "sweet little thing" albeit a bit shy- but I am definitely hand tame. I'm little confused about what's going right now but not too stressed out really. Everyone has been quite nice so far. I'm told I will be going to the avian veterinarian tomorrow and then a foster home. I hear through the grape vine that my foster home has other cockatoos- perhaps their calls will calm me- do you think so? Cockatoos are lots of fun and we make great companion parrots. We love human company and like to hang out with you. We need healthy food like pellets made for birds, fresh fruits and vegetables and an occasional nut or two a day. Can you provide that for me? Of course I will need a nice big cage and toys to play with as well. Once my foster mom gets to know me little better my story can be updated so please check back. In the meantime I encourage you to read all the other cockatoo stories too- get it?'too? Anyway- thanks for stopping by and reading all about me. I've got a good start- now I just need a new home- what do you think- could it be us? You and me- forever?

Notice: Due to the notoriously difficult nature of cockatoos, Mickaboo prefers that cockatoos not be a households' first parrot. If you intend to house a cockatoo, please research the following websites:
