My previous person says I am a "perfect" bird. I'm Ziggy, an (almost) 11 year-old umbrella cockatoo. I need a new home because divorce has come to my family, and also because I need a busy, active environment. My problem is that in the past I laid too many eggs. I've had a hysterectomy but still will focus too much on mating behavior and will prolapse my vent. I have had multiple surgeries to deal with that. Experience has shown that a busy home distracts me from such problematic behavior. Fortunately, I love children. I don't bite and don't scream, though I do like my people to be where I can see them. I'm such a good girl, I will even stand on the counter while my nails are clipped. I enjoy my food and especially like pellets, oranges, grapes, mangoes, French toast, eggs, pasta, rice, and bread. As you can tell, I'm not big on veggies. Maybe you could bake me some birdie bread with veggies "hidden" in it. I adjust well to new situations and even like to go for car rides. The one thing I don't like is bathing; but, if you hold me in the shower, I'll put up with it. Though I want an active household, everyone will have to understand the proper way to treat me and to handle me so that my mating instincts aren't triggered. If you will take that responsibility seriously, and give me plenty of the right kind of love and attention, I could be the "perfect" bird for you!
