Lottie Lou was a stray found in August (and thus named Leo by her founder, since Leo is the sign for that month). But, a DNA test revealed her to be .... a GIRL. So, Leo is now Lottie Lou. Lottie Lou was traumatized from being lost and over time was given a seed only diet by the nice and well-meaning lady who found her. The nice woman did not know that a seed-only diet is unhealthy and, the diet and the trauma of being lost led Lottie Lou to start pulling her feathers out. She is now under a vet's care being treated for plucking. She will be available for adoption once her health has stabilized. Lottie Lou loves to shred things and cannot get enough love and cuddles from her favorite person. She loves most people and would be a good bird for someone who can shower tons of attention on her. While she is a bit intense and obsessive right now (which seems related to her stressed feather plucking) and she can occasinally be a bit nippy as a result, she does not bite too hard. And Lottie Lou is described by her foster mom as the most cuddly, snuggly bird she has ever been around. Lottie Lou just wants to be loved a LOT! Print this page |
