Hello- My name is Pablo and I'm a feral SF pigeon that had a terrible encounter (probably with a power line) that resulted in the unwelcome amputation of my right wing! I found a pretty good hiding spot in between a wall and a house and the family there put out food and water for me and I was doing the best I could but it was pretty scary. I could tell the cats were looking for me! Luckily, MickaCoo was contacted and, while they were established to help domestic pigeons, they knew that wildlife rescues euthanize birds that can't be released to the wild and, without the ability to fly, I can't be released. But, unlike most other wild creatures, pigeons adjust very well to life as pets so I had surgery to close the wound (though I was doing really good at that all on my own) and am healing up great. I'm even growing new feathers in already. So now I'm starting a new chapter of life. I've lost flight, my freedom, my family- but I've got my life and I'm grateful for that. I'd like to live with other pigeons, especially ferals or racers or flightless birds like me. Right now I'm staying with a bunch of jumbo sized white king pigeons and they're alright but they make me a little nervous. They're SO white! Oh- and I'm a man bird and would really appreciate a nice lady bird. I had one and I've been trying to figure out how to get back to her but I'm grounded and adjusting to the fact that that's not going to happen.
