Hello and happy new year! We came to Mickaboo right after the Christmas season, like our neighbors, the Holidays. So our foster mom named us Merry and Bright. Bright is the white powder puff and Merry is the blue budgie. We are mostly English budgie, as you can tell by our fluffy pompadours. While these pictures of us cuddling (we're sisters and have been together since we hatched) are very cute, this is how we spend most of our days. We were hatched with deformed hips and legs and cannot stand or perch. We were well taken care of by our person until recently, when he lost his house and we lost our home. So he called Mickaboo and we came to live with our Mickaboo foster mom and a lot of budgies! We can hear the budgies but we haven't met them yet. We're still getting used to our new home, but we hear rumors that we're going to move into a bigger cage pretty soon, and learn to do more stuff -- including play with toys. This all sounds like a lot of fun. If you want to play too, just send our coordinator a note and you might be invited to come play with us! Notice: Due to the highly social nature of parakeets, unless a household currently includes a parakeet, Mickaboo generally requires that a minimum of two parakeets be adopted. Print this page |
