Hi- My name is Skyscraper and this is my story. I was just a baby king pigeon, about 4 weeks old and out struggling to survive on my own (an impossible job for a domestic AND baby bird) when I was found at Natoma & 1st in SF. I arrived at the shelter with what appeared to be a fractured wing and was very fortunate to be rescued by MickaCoo who, thanks to donations from very compassionate supporters, was able to provide the rather extensive (and expensive) medical care I needed to survive and eventually get well. I was also lucky to have volunteers foster me and nurse me back to health until I was adopted into my forever home for which I'm very grateful. I'm doing well now, despite all the odds, but it's kind of a miracle that I escaped the butcher, the streets and the euthanasia for space - more typical outcomes for baby king pigeons like me.
