I'm a young 'un, my foster mom thinks, due to my slim and trim figure and the sleekness of my beak. I'm Beka, short for Rebecca, and named after my foster mom's wonderful pet sitter. She takes care of us when "Mom" has to go away for a day or two. Some people think birds can fend for themselves if left with "plenty of food and water." That's not the case though! What if it's hot and I drink a lot of water, or it gets spilled, or the food runs out? Yikes! Plus, it's nice to have company when my humans are away. I spent some time in a shelter prior to being discovered by Mickaboo. After a vet checkup, it was discovered that I had an infection so I was treated for that. I am perfectly healthy now and ready for a home of my own. I have not been handled or played with very much, it appears, so if you want a tame, loveable budgie you will need to spend some time with me. Hey! I'm up for that though- are you?
