I've been happily adopted, but check below for a list of other sweet birds who need a home!

My name's MC and that's pronounced "Emm See", like you're saying the letters instead of trying to make a word out of them. People ask me if I'm named after MC Hammer, who was a famous disco singer in the 1980s (or something -- I'm a cockatiel so pop culture references are lost on me). The answer is no. People also ask me what the letters M and C stand for and the answer is, they stand for nothing. They're just who I am, what you can call me.

I hope that I don't come across as enigmatic or mysterious because of my name. I'm really a very down to earth normal grey cockatiel. A nice lady found me outdoors, noticed that I seemed lost and hungry, so she took me in. She fed me, did some research on how to care for me, tried to find my owner -- hey, she even took me to the vet, who said that I appear to be pretty healthy. She also noticed that I seemed to be lonely for other birds so she called Mickaboo to come and get me. That was another smart move by my rescuer because Mickaboo has a lot of other birds! I'm in my second day in foster care and so far I've wolf-whistled and climbed all over my foster dad's shirt sleeves. Hands still scare me but we're working on that.

Please check back soon to see how I'm doing!

Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted.
