Hello, my name is Sky! My temporary daddy picked that name for me because I have a nice blue patch on my nose, like all Blue Fronted Amazons do, but he had the feeling that I was pretty special.. I was brought to the shelter as a "stray", but clearly I was someone's pet at some point. I talk up a storm, and so far i've said some pretty funny things.. I love to say "hellooooooo" in a rising voice like some nice aunt asking if I was home.. I'm a voracious eater and when daddy goes to the kitchen I get all excited and run through a few of my favorites.. "Hello", "How are ya" and sometimes "Hey Bird".. I was visiting a home of another Mickaboo foster and surprised them!! When their kitty walked on the floor in front of me I said "get your butt outta here". I also occasionally laugh! With all I've been through I'm a real goofball I think when I'm having fun. Like most big birds I get mad when things don't go my way, but I think I'm learning to enjoy all the great toys.. I've love the rope and wood toys and spends hours everyday chewing on it.. Daddy has promoted me to 'chief paper shredder' and likes to give me cardboard tubes and other things to shred.. "They ain't gonna bite themselves, so you better do it for me" he says, and I almost always help out.. When I'm not talking, Daddy thinks I'm the quietest big bird he's ever met. I'm happy chewing and playing and looking out the window for hours as daddy works in his office next to me. I also look at him, and give him that "poor me I have to scritch my own head" look just before putting my head down and waiting for him to fuzz me up... We don't know but we think I am a boy and a pretty young one at that.. Maybe a few years old. My guess is that my old owner released me because they got bored with me, or didn't know how to handle me when I get a bit cranky. I come out of the cage in the morning on dad's hand, and I usually climb back into my cage at night all by myself. But I am occasionally tempermental, and I don't like having my situation changed on me.. New people appear to make me scared and I've bitten Dad a few times to tell him that I'm angry... But once I adjust I'm a very very nice bird.. So far I seem to be a fruit bat, but my daddy is working getting me to eat a more varied diet. I'm good withing my pellets and I seem very healthy with my foot band still intact. I think I would be a great bird for someone that had a little patience to let me settle in, and didn't change my world alot (I think I'm just like any other bird that way).
