Hello, I'm Prince the grey cockatiel. I was found outdoors in the Sacramento area shortly after I had been attacked by a cat. A young man and his girlfriend saw that I was bleeding and missing a lot of feathers so they took me to a veterinary hospital on Mickaboo's behalf. Mickaboo has a commitment to never turn away a companion bird who needs help and I must say that they came through for me! After some time to recover at the hospital followed by a few weeks at a Mickaboo foster home I have made tremendous progress! Most of my feathers have grown back and I preeen them daily to keep myself looking sleek and handsome. I eat well, love to whistle and sing, and have made friends with several other cockatiels here. When I'm not visiting with my friends, my favorite things are climbing around (I will even hang upside down!), playing with toys and saying "I love you" to my foster mom. I'm still a bit shy of people but I am getting braver all the time. I would love to go to a forever home with other cockatiels and people who will give me time to get comfortable with them. Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
