Update 6/16/06: Don't let the initial bio fool you. Okay, so I only display attitude until I get to know you. Really, I'm aching to step up, be head scritched and interact with a family I can call my own. Besides being brutally handsome, my foster family refers to me as "a really cool bird". I sing about Ol' McDonald, say Whoa!, love to eat and bob to music. So, you care to get acquainted with one happenin' guy?
I've turned the quarter of a century mark and I still have a long life ahead. I am a Double Yellow Head Amazon male with attitude - you know how some of us get feisty, territorial and aggressive - playing out our jungle roles of protecting our nest, mate and babies - even when it is just a cage with some toys in a living room? That profiles me pretty much. I've had a checkered past. Before my previous owner adopted me I was a breeder and fortunately I've moved years away from that life. I lived a lot of my years with the same family that had Pepper (see his bio) and it was a good life. They took excellent care of me. We had toys, a great diet (fruits veggies, pellets - and some of my favorites were melon, apple, blueberries, spinach, hominy from the can, beef, chicken, pasta, eggs, pecans, raw peanuts and fresh fruit juice). We even got pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. We had lots of time out of the cage too. My caretakers developed some health problems as they aged and had to sell their home. So Pepper and I have to find a new one too. My claim to fame is singing Old MacDonald Has a Farm! I am a chatty guy and yell QUIET when the party gets noisy. Although Pepper and I lived side by side as neighbors we aren't really friends. I'm not sure how I am with a bird buddy, but with an experience caretaker supervising I could probably learn to mellow out in the company of other birds. My foster mom says I will make a great companion bird to the right family. If you need help remembering the words to Old MacDonald, give me a call at Mickaboo!

Notice: Due to the sometimes difficult nature of amazons, Mickaboo prefers that amazons not be a households' first parrot. If you intend to house an amazon, please research the following websites:
