Hello, I'm Mona and, as you can see I'm a gorgeous white and yellow lutino cockatiel. Nobody knows how old I am and since I am a lady I'm not divulging that information! Mickaboo thinks that I am probably under five years old though, so I have many good years ahead of me. I am by all indications hale and hardy and, well, I don't like to brag but my beautiful plumage is an indicator of how healthy I am. I came to Mickaboo from a shelter in the South Bay. Don't get me wrong: animal shelters are great places and our communities need them. But they're not always best for little birds like me, what with all the dogs and cats there. Luckily, Mickaboo maintains working relationships with shelters and animal control agencies across the Bay Area, so companion birds who are lost or transitioning between homes can get the best possible care. I'm still shy about being handled but I like being near people and watching them, and I especially like being talked to. I have a wide assortment of toys which keep my mind and body busy. I prefer being with other cockatiels and will do best in a home with at least one or two of them. I would like a human companion who will be patient with me and help get me comfortable with being handled. I may never be a cuddle-bird but I do like being around people. I look forward to being adopted by a family who will provide me with a loving home and who will accept my boundaries. Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
