Howdy, Ralph the M2 (that's cockatoo talk for moluccan cockatoo) here. I'm a middle aged dude (or so everyone thinks anyway) of about 15-20 years. I've had a couple of owners already. My first one loved me until she got very ill with cancer, then I ended up in the garage in deplorable conditions - rats running around - no food or water. So, 4 years ago, after I was inherited by my new mom - I moved once again Mom and Dad gave me love, toys, lots of good food and pellets and even sprits baths to keep my feathers looking good. You know - despite everything I have been through I do not pluck my feathers out. Everyone here at Mickaboo seem amazed by that - I'm one tough cockatoo and have a lot of spirit too - don't you think? As cockatoos do, I tend to create a lot of feather dust. Mom has several respiratory diseases including asthma, emphysema and chronic bronchitis which cockatoo dust tends to exacerbate; so she needs to re-home me. She consulted the local avian vet about how to do this and he recommended Mickaboo. Mom says I am gentle and affectionate and good with kids too! My noise level tends to rise some when my Dad comes home from work and in the morning. Who can blame me though? I get really excited when my favorite person comes home and cockatoos like to welcome the morning dawn with some cheery squawking! The cockatoo coordinator is very happy as I already have two prospective adopters. Isn't that exciting. So, while I am not available , to the general public anymore - please wish me luck in my new home - whichever one that may be! I should know soon! Woo hoo for 'toos! Notice: Due to the notoriously difficult nature of cockatoos, Mickaboo prefers that cockatoos not be a households' first parrot.
