Greetings! My name is Chai, which means "tea" in Hindi or "life" in Hebrew. They say that I am a pied cockatiel, but I like to think of myself as being eclectic or multicultural. I can look like a white-faced, a lutino, or a normal grey tiel depending on which part of me you look at. My brightest color is in my sunshine yellow crest, which, as you can see, I wear tall and proud. Nobody knows exactly how old I am but I seem fairly young. I was originally rescued, along with another cockatiel, from an animal shelter by a nice woman who cared well for the two of us. Then the other bird's previous human companion found out that he had been rescued and took him back home, which was a happy ending ?.for him. They didn't want both of us, you see, so I was left alone without any bird buddies. I became very nervous and fidgety, and the woman who had rescued me called Mickaboo to get me placed in a home with other cockatiels. As soon as I heard other birds chirping in my foster home, I calmed down again. Whew! So, I need to go to a home with other birds, preferably other cockatiels. Don't get me wrong; I enjoy people too, even though I'm not a cuddler. I step up and converse with you in a mixture of chirps and kissing sounds, which I arrange rhythmically for your listening pleasure. My diet is good, as I will eat what the birds and people around me eat so am open to new things all the time. I love mist baths, whistling "La Cucaracha," and piano music. My foster family says that I'm happy, healthy, and attractive and will make a great friend and companion for somebody . Wouldn't you like to find out more? Call Mickaboo! Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
