Hiya! I'm a middle aged moluccan cockatoo of about 20-25 years of age. I didn't have such a good start in life as my owner loved me but his wife did not - she actually used to bang on my cage to scare me. That stressed me out so I began to pluck, and pluck and pluck. As you can see from my photo I have barely any feathers left except on my noggin'! Luckily for me I was turned into a vet/rescue and my current owner adopted me. I've been with her for seventeen years now. Unfortunately due to a move to a smaller place and other family cirumcusmtance she needs to find me another loving home. I'm a really good girl albeit a bit needy, but very friendly indeed. Oh! I forgot to tell you my name - it's Quiote (kay-o-tay) - different huh? I rather like it! I say a couple of cute things like my name and, 'cute, cute girl'! My mom says I AM still cute even if I am a little bit naked. I am sort of afraid of new things at first - until I get used to them, and I do like to have my cage covered at night. I'm also a bit of a junk food junkie so you will have to entice me to eat some healthier type foods like pellets, but I do like lots of fruits and yams or sweet potatoes (fresh of course never from a can)! Please tell me looks don't matter- and that you'll love me for me. I need a really swell family to help me through this transition in life - and to love me forever. Let the coordinator know if you might be interested in a sweet girl like me. Notice: Due to the notoriously difficult nature of cockatoos, Mickaboo prefers that cockatoos not be a households' first parrot.
