Hi, I am Joey. I am a 30 year old yellow nape, possibly part mealy, amazon. I am a very, very large bird. My foster mom says that I am the largest amazon she has ever seen, by far. I lived in my previous home my whole life. My beloved owner moved away and left me with her family. I bit the dad person and he took me to pet jail. I sat there until Mickaboo came to my rescue. You see, I am what they call cage territorial. That means that I really like my cage. When you want to play with me, you are best off to use a stick to have me step up and take me out. Once I am out, I like to PLAY! My foster mom likes to swing me around on her arm and make me exercise. I like that too. When my foster mom picked me up, my first words were, ?does anyone want a cocktail? I want to play!? While leaving, I said ?bye bye now, see you later? over and over. I chat about all kinds of stuff, but I do miss my previous home and am still a little sad about leaving. I will learn to love again though as I am a healthy bird and have a lot of years left in me. My favorite snack, so far, is veggie burgers! I love them so much. I also really enjoy many different fruits and vegetables. Do you want to see a big sexy bird eating corn? Check out this link and click on my name: http://www.flickr.com/photos/doreneadams/collections/72157617795495211/ You can see in my videos that I am a very sweet amazon. My foster mom thinks I am quiet too. I do have my moments when I like to let my presence be known, but I am not a loud bird in general. So, if you love to hear a boisterous laugh and do not mind a wolf whistle now and then, drop me a line. My mom will put up some more videos on her Flickr site, so check back often. For now, later mater! Notice: Due to the sometimes difficult nature of amazons, Mickaboo prefers that amazons not be a households' first parrot.
