Update: 12/27/09 I live for my wooden toys. My days are spent launching attacks on hanging toys. This includes growling, squawking and generally playful sounds while I tear them apart piece by piece. I love to untie rope knots and chew on cinnamon sticks. If I get bored, I complain until my foster mom finds a toy for me to play with. Update: 7/11/09 I'm still a very quiet and petite bird. My foster mom calls me Prince Eagleheart since I'm such a noble and elegant little amazon. I hold my damaged wing as a shield rather than protecting it from the world. Given a chance, I will strike out on my own to explore the world by foot. I eat mostly Harrison's coarse pellets with a few coarse pellets sprinked in. Corn on the cob is my favorite vegetable. Carrots are okay. I'm still leary of green vegetables and cooked grains. Will you be the one to capture my noble heart and take me to my forever home? I promise I'll never fly away. _____________________ I'm a very quiet amazon who isn't used to people but I'm learning. Have you ever met those birds that don't like hands? That's me. I like to be carried around on your arm. When I came into Mickaboo, I had an infected toe that was going to be amputated. It healed very quickly so I didn't have to have surgery! Getting medicine twice a day was scary at first. I learned getting handled isn't so terrible after all. Another thing you should know about me is that one of my wings is damaged. I can't fly but flapping my good wing is fun. If you have a quiet home where I can explore this new life, give me a call. I'm starting to like this life with humans. Notice: Due to the sometimes difficult nature of amazons, Mickaboo prefers that amazons not be a households' first parrot.
