Updated 6/14/06: Spanky is the first to greet his foster Mom each morning and gets a kick out of whistling his wolf call and imitating parakeet sounds. There used to be foster budgies in a nearby room and he picked up on that right away! Spanky likes the company of both of his cage mates, and they all get along very well, but he is quite enamored with Dixie. He thinks she?s one gorgeous hen. In fact he?d be just thrilled if he and Dixie could be adopted together!
Hi, I'm Spanky! I'm a handsome grey cockatiel who used to live in a harem. I was surrendered to an animal shelter and stayed there with 3 female cockatiels, all of us stuffed into a little cage. I'm learning that food means more than just seeds and have already learned to enjoy nibbling greens. I also like the occasional bath in my water dish. Though I?m not tame, and will bite at this stage of my life, I'm outgoing, playful with my toys and inquisitive. I can sing, mimic and whistle. I'm the first to wake up in the morning and the first to start vocalizing in my beautiful clear voice. I could be an interesting, entertaining companion just as I am, or you can help me accept more physical human contact. Either way, you?re in for a Spanky good time! Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted.
