Update 06/18/2009 I am at a very special foster home with some other cockatoo friends. I am undergoing some rehabilitation to help me deal with some issues that might prevent me from being successful in an adoptive home right now. Please check back on me in a few months to see how I am doing! Hi! I'm Rosie, a female umbrella cockatoo - one of the larger species in the cockatoo family. I am definitely a female because I laid an egg some time ago! I'm in need of a new home ... sadly, again. I was rescued about a year ago from back east, and it appears that I am once again in an unsafe environment and need to move. Did you know that most companion parrots have at least seven different homes in their life times? Sad isn't it? I've done a little feather plucking - but gee who wouldn't when they are stressed out? I need some safety and security so I can settle down and relax. I may be rather particular about who my human is. I seem to prefer men, but that may not be an absolute requirement. I'd just like a calm environment, perhaps with someone who works from home? I just want a little love - have you got space in your home for my cage and room in your heart for me? If so please let the cockatoo coordinator know! Notice: Due to the notoriously difficult nature of cockatoos, Mickaboo prefers that cockatoos not be a households' first parrot.
