"Tiger Tiger Burning Bright. In the Jungle of the Night." My Mickaboo foster mom thought that this poem described me pretty well -- a cockatiel with a topknot like a candle flame, sick and alone in an animal shelter. I was rescued by a wonderful Mickaboo volunteer, taken to a vet and then to a foster home. Since I've been here I've mainly been eating. Still burning pretty brightly, as you can see from my picture, but the jungle-night-thing is all in the past. We all think I'm a very young cockatiel, since my topknot was still pretty short when I got here, but no one is really sure. I'm just getting acquainted with people, but you all look pretty interesting. I'd like to learn more from someone that likes spending time with me -- maybe even listen to some more poetry! If you think that you might like like to have your life lit up by a birdie as a bright as a candle flame -- please come and visit me. Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
