Welcome to my Odyssey. Everyone probably remembers the stories of Ulysses, the wanderer who went away to war and found all sorts of adventures. He didn't come home for ten years. Not everyone remembers Penelope, his wife, who stayed home and tended to her loom, and took care of the house, the kids, the finances, etc., etc.. Anyway, I'm Ulysses, a very brave and adventurous cockatiel. I'm happy to tell everyone around about my adventures (in both cockatiel and some English). Penelope is more quiet (although she does have her own soft-voiced repertoire of interesting noises), and is much less interested in adventures. In the most recent chapter of our adventure, we were turned into a shelter because our owner was allergic to us. Now, I wouldn't want to imply that the shelter was similar to the Trojan War, but it is true that we're both ready to settle down and quit wandering. Our full names are Penelope and Ulysses (or Penny and Les, to our friends). Like any warrior, I'm not completely hand-tame, but I understand "step up", and will sometimes cooperate. And I'm always happy to discuss the matter with you. Penny is still a little shy, having been a homebody for so long. As you can see from our picture, I'm a distinguished gray cockatiel, right out of an epic poem; Penny is a lovely light cinnamon. If you would like to make friends, we would be happy to end our Odyssey with you. Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
