Update, 18 Feb 2009: I'm on TV! You can see a short newsclip about Mickaboo -- and featuring me!! -- here.

Update, 11 Jan 2009: Well, i have proven to be quite a little joker and playmate. I love talking to my foster dad and asking what he is doing, and I would spend every waking minute cuddling with him if I could. I can be a little bit bossy, but that's my birthright as a Senegal parrot! Besides cuddling, I love exploring, playing hide and seek and foraging for fruits. I will make a great companion bird and am all ready to go into the right home.

Pleased to meet you! I'm Tuttles, and I'm one of over a hundred lucky birds who were rescued from an aviary that was being closed down. Dozens of Mickaboo volunteers "stepped up" and worked hard on the weekend before Christmas to get me and the other birds out of there and into warm, safe foster homes or sanctuaries in time for the holidays.

My foster dad is pretty sure that I'm a female but says that he can't be sure. Like most Senegal parrots I am a bit mischievous and like to imitate all kinds of sounds. Since I lived around several different species of birds, I can imitate many of their sounds as well as those of human voices, cell phones, and musical instruments! I love being around people and am learning how to interact with them in an indoor environment. I also like to explore, watch the world around me and try new foods.

By all indications I am young, healthy and happy and will make a great companion bird for the right person or family. if you are interested in taking in a little orange and green dynamo like me, let Mickaboo's Poicephalus coordinator know. Thanks!
