Isaac here! Sara and I were abandoned together outside of the UC Davis veterinary hospital and are in separate Mickaboo foster homes now. Like many of the cockatiels here, I am fortunate to have generous people sponsoring me through Mickaboo's Angel Program to be sure that i get all the care I need until I'm adopted. I'm what's called a white-faced cockatiel because -- well, because my face is white! However, the coloration on the rest of my body is a bit different from most other white-faced 'tiels. I have a bit more grey on my chest and wings and my crest is quite distinctive, don't you think? I'm about five years old and by all indications I am healthy. You might be thinking that I'm resentful of people after being abandoned and all. Not so! I've left that behind me and I'm happy and friendly . . . well, except for first thing in the morning, when I'm a bit grumpy. As soon as I'm wide awake, though, I am ready to party! My foster mom says that I was obviously someone's pet and good friend because I am very well socialized. If you put your hand in my cage I assume it's because you want me to step up for you, which I will gladly do. I also assume that you wanted me to step up so that you could scritch my head! I'm not a nag but if you stop scritching for too long I will give you a gentle reminder. If you put me down on a playpen or other safe area near you, I'll be happy just to be near you and watch you. That is when i do some of my best whistling. I can whistle the Andy Griffith theme song and I do a great wolf whistle too. I bet if you let me watch other classic TV shows like Leave It to Beaver I could learn their theme songs too! I am looking for a home with lots of loving human companionship, other cockatiels to keep me company, a little slack time to wake up in the morning and a TV station that plays classic reruns. If that sounds like your home, let Mickaboo know! Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
