My name is Lily, formerly "Baby", but I like Lily better! I'm a very petite little 15 year old citron cockatoo. I've had some sad times in my life including abuse by my owners mate, and then my long time owner recently died. Luckily my Dad left word, in his will, for me to go me to a friendly neighbor. He loved me very much but didn't have the funds for the medical bills I incurred due to excessive feather picking on my chest. You see I was not only stressed by my home life but they even smoked in my house! GASP! Birds have air sacs for breathing and smoke - well- it just about did me in! Fortunately, my new Dad wanted me to get well so he surrendered me to Mickaboo so they could give me much needed medical care. I have practically stopped plucking already since I'm out of the smoke and I am scheduled for reconstructive surgery next week. Life is looking much better. In a month or two I will need to find a permanent home to call my very own. Do you like cute little cockatoos? My plusses include sweetness, I step up, I like most everyone, I talk a bit, I'm a really good eater, and I'm actually quite quiet for a cockatoo - really I am! I do have one teensy fault. I love to play with my food and toys at night. Ha ha! I toss my food all abouti - I don't know why - I guess I just think it's fun. My foster mom said she's gonna have to take my food dishes out at night if I don't stop that little behavior. Guess I better behave myself - don't you think? Well, I'd really be excited if you'd consider adopting me - I promise I'll be a good friend. Notice: Due to the notoriously difficult nature of cockatoos, Mickaboo prefers that cockatoos not be a households' first parrot.
