Bart is very friendly little bird who just loves to hang out and get head skritches. He's perhaps a little needy so someone who is looking for a bird to shower love and attention on, would make a happy pair with Bart! Bart loves Harrison's pepper pellets and will eat some Zupreem natural once his favorite Harrison's are gone. He's still not too keen on fruit and veggies, but of course loves nuts as a treat. Bart came to Mickaboo with damage to his feet. Bart's feet were broken, then allowed to knit out of position. Bart is totally unable to use his feet, and gets around walking on his hocks, but is pretty much unable to climb. It is unlikely he'll ever use his feet again because of the way they've healed and how long it has been. Although the broken skin on ankles has healed over, he acts like one of them is still very sore. Mickaboo has a number of handicapped bird and we can help Bart's forever home create a wonderful set up for him. Bart is very cheerful and friendly despite his injuries. He had some health problems when he first arrived, but his foster dad has taken good care of him and he is now in good health. He is quite content chewing things into small pieces and loves to eat. He's excited for a good five minutes after his foster dad refills his dishes. He really likes being in the company of people. Bart's volume control seems to be stuck on 11. He doesn't actually call out all that much, He's just very loud when he does. The only real issue with noise is the morning he will call continuously from sunrise until he gets breakfast. His foster dad sometimes wonders if his meals were irregular before coming to Mickaboo, since Bart is always so happy and grateful when he gets his meals. There are not too many toys that he can play with, but footers with wooden parts will keep him busy. They're small enough that he can drag them around, and chew them into dust. If you are looking for a bird to shower with love and attention, someone who will appreciate you, especially with a morning wakeup call, consider giving Bart his loving forever home! Print this page |
