We are three very, very special little budgies. You may wonder what it is that makes us so special. Well, I?ll tell you? our Mom loved us very much and believed that we were special. Not long ago she wrote an email to the Mickaboo folks about us and said ?I?m feeling the separation blues. I usually wake up to their chirping sounds. The past two mornings were very quiet.? Ah, poor thing, she is missing us. You see, she really didn?t want to say good-bye to us at all. But her husband had work to do overseas, and it was the right thing for her to be with her husband. (And they said that we weren?t allowed to go overseas ? the nerve!). For a long time she stayed with us here in California because she couldn?t bear to leave us behind. But then she called the Mickaboo folks and they promised that they?d find us a good forever home, and until then, they?d take really good care of us in a foster home. So our Mom finally decided that it was OK to join her husband since we would be in good hands. In fact, she was so grateful to the Mickaboo folks that she gave them a very substantial donation. That will help take care of some of the less fortunate birds who come in ill, injured, or abused and need vet care. Not only that, but our Mom said that she wished she could give more to Mickaboo! So how?s that for special? I think that makes us pretty darn special, and perhaps our Mom is even more special! I?ll tell you something that makes our Mom so special? there?s this quote written by Antoine de Saint Exupery and it goes something like this: "I remain responsible, forever, for what I have tamed"? and our Mom doesn?t just quote it, but she really believes it. So now that you understand just how special we are, let?s get to the practical stuff: we are of course darling little budgies, and since we?ve all been together for some time we prefer to remain that way. We eat healthy pellets quite nicely, and really enjoy mint. And when we think you?ve got a treat for us, we?ll come running! So perhaps you can find room in your heart to feel that we?re just a bit special to you? Print this page |
