Seeing a bird in a tree isn't really that unusual. But seeing this bird in a tree brought the household to a standstill. Timmy is a splay legged budgie, which means that he cannot perch normally because his legs are not positioned under his body, where they belong. The cause may have been genetic, or poor nutrition, or some combination of the two. But Timmy doesn't know that he is supposed to be any different. This tree/perch was in his cage, so he flew into it. And then took a nap. We need to stay on our toes to keep coming up with things to make Timmy's life interesting -- he's full of surprises.
