Hi, we're Rome and Opal, a mated pair of king pigeons. I'm named Rome because I'm so elegant. I was found at the corner of Ripley and Folsom. From there I went to the shelter and then I came to my foster home which is nice but I'd like to settle down in a forever home. One good thing though is that I met my lovely mate Opal here and she is as beautiful as one. Opal was found on 5/2 at the corner of Geary & 11th and taken to the SF Animal Care & Control Shelter. She was there for a loooong time and finally my Foster Mom brought her home to our aviary on 6/18. Opal was SO happy to be outdoors with room to spread her wings that she stood right in Mom's hand and FLEW (with toes holding on to her fingers). Mom really liked that and I fell in love. We really like being in the sunshine and fresh air and with other pigeons. We're young birds with long, happy lives ahead of us.
