Hi, My name is Baby. My foster mom named me that because she took me in when I was only 2 months old. I was surrendered because I was given as a gift and the people who got me didn't really want me (or ask for me). What a great start to my life, huh? I was kept in a tiny, tiny cage with plastic perches and no toys. Don't people know that babies love toys? Even worse, the woman who first had me was a breeder and she traded me for bird food at the pet store. And it gets worse. You're not supposed to sell a bird before they are weaned (about 8 weeks) but the breeder traded me when I was only a month old. I could have starved to death! But I didn't. That's one thing about me, I love to eat! I eat all of my veggies (I love sugar snap peas!) and I am trying to convert over to pellets, as I type this. I also love my toys! I have been very busy shredding the toys that I have been given. I chirp and sing a lot and I am very busy exploring my new cage.I still have a little black on my beak and my colors haven't come in yet but my foster mom thinks that I will be a Dutch Blue, whatever that is. I'm not totally tame, I'm still a baby, but I do not bite and I want to be friends, I'm just trying to learn how.The first night that I came home with my foster parent, she held me and gave me pets and I ended up falling asleep under her chin. I would love to find a forever home, maybe a family who would select a nice name for me because I am growing up after all, and you can't call me baby forever! Print this page |
